I'll be joining the team from Midwest Coast Brewing to talk about how books bring people together, share a few of my favorite recommendations, and preview one of my favorite events of the year: Dachshunds Through the Bookshop!
When I started The Lit Wagon, I simply wanted to combine the things I love most: books, craft beer, and creating spaces where people could connect. Thanks to all of you, this little bookstore on wheels has grown into something so much bigger, and I couldn't be more grateful.

🐶 Dachshunds Through the Bookshop
If you know me, you know this event is basically a dream come true. As the proud owner of two doxy mixes, I could not be more excited to bring The Lit Wagon to an event filled with adorable pups, books, beer, and community. Catch me at the Weiner Circle shouting “WHO LET THE DAWGS OUT!”
We'll be popping up alongside Chicago Dachshund Lovers, cheering on the dachshund races, and hanging out with our friends at Midwest Coast Brewing! Whether you're bringing your own pup or just want to meet a few dozen new four-legged friends, it's sure to be one of our most joyful events of the year. Midwest Coast has long been one of Chicago's most dog-friendly breweries, making it the perfect place to spend the day with fellow book lovers and dog lovers alike.
The 2026 Dachshund Derby will benefit Dachshund World Charities & all dogs who wish to race must pre-register in order to participate. Winners from each heat will then be eligible to race at the Chicago Bears NFL Halftime show at Soldier Field! You do not need to purchase a spot for humans or other dogs that are only spectating. You can also get a commemorative, custom t-shirt to raise money for the charity partner while doing it in style!
PLUS, one of our faves, West Town Flower Girl, will be there with gorgeous bouquets available for purchase. She always kills it & it makes for the perfect end cap to a lovely Sunday spent with like-minded Chicagoans.
