I have some exciting news to share with you first:
On Monday, I’ll be appearing on WGN as part of their Chicago Spotlight series, and of course, I wanted our subscribers to get the details before I go on air! This is a huge milestone for me and one I’m honestly still pinching myself about! Getting the chance to share local Chicago happenings on air, especially those centered on the book community, is truly a dream. However you support The Lit Wagon: cheering us on, posting on socials, opening these emails, supporting local events, and helping all of this grow…this feels like a win we get to celebrate together.
And the event I’ll be highlighting is such a good one…

If you’re still looking for a Mother’s Day plan that feels fun, local, and a little different from the standard brunch reservation, this is one to put on your calendar.
Midwest Coast’s Mother’s Day Celebration - Sunday, May 10
This West Town brewery is turning Mother’s Day into a full-day neighborhood event with everything mom loves:
Yoga with the Omies
10:30 AM – 11:30 AM
Start the morning with a grounding yoga class before the festivities begin.
Mother’s Day Market
12 PM – 5 PM
The brewery then transforms into a curated market featuring:
• West Town Flower Girl
• Mooncusser Raw Bar
• & us! The Lit Wagon Mobile Bookshop
Flowers, books, oysters, local vendors, craft beer, and a laid-back West Town atmosphere? Yes please. It’s exactly the kind of Mother’s Day outing I love sharing: festive, local, easy, and something the whole family can actually enjoy.
I’ll be talking all about it on WGN this Monday, May 4th, at 1PM, but my subscribers are officially getting the first look (and sharing in my excitement). I’ll be slinging special mom-themed books, Blind Dates with a Book - pre-wrapped for easy gifting, candles, totes, our special book bouquets & much more!

Thank you for being part of moments like this. Truly.
Now… go make those Mother’s Day plans, and keep an eye out for me (& the wagon) on WGN! Love you all ❤
